ABOUT ME:

Hi, I'm Sandy , owner operator of Speculator SUP. I'm homebased in Eastern Long Island, but summer in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in New York.  I started paddleboarding in 2013, buying a Groupon on a whim. From there, I paddled as much as I could, and then had the incredible experience of paddling with the manatees outside Orlando, Florida.  The tour leader observed me helping another paddler, and said "you could do this job"!  The lightbulb went off in my head and I started on this quest. 

I have SUP Instructor certification from the Academy of Surfing Instructors and  the Professional Stand Up Paddleboarder Association which includes SUP Water Rescue.  I have first aid and CPR certifications from PADI and the American Red Cross.  I'm a member of PSUPA, the American Canoe Association and the World Paddle Association. 

I'm happily married to my high school sweetheart, and have two wonderful children.  When I'm not paddling, I'm reading, baking, working in my home gym doing step aerobics, and knitting.
